Oori Apparel makes garment-like installations liberated from the body.
As a second-generation inheritor of a garment labor environment, she continues artistic labor through a contemporary reinterpretation of that heritage. She approaches garment labor as a place where human desire, agency, and passivity intersect exploring beauty along with the contradictions that underlie it.
Within repetition, simplicity, and human labor, she discovers and materializes sculptural beauty.

Oori Apparel is hands-on, research-driven artist, she creates installations that borrow the language of fashion to reconstruct landscapes of labor.
