Oori Apparel is a garment-based textile sculptor liberated from the body. As a second-generation inheritor of a garment labor environment, she continues artistic labor through a contemporary reinterpretation of that heritage. She approaches garment labor as a place where human desire, agency, and passivity intersect exploring beauty along with the contradictions that underlie it. Within repetition, simplicity, and human labor, she discovers and materializes sculptural beauty.
